The Gold Trail Historic-Ecological Site
The Gold Trail Historical-Ecological Site is a cultural/touristic project - developed by Teatro Espaço from Paraty that means to preserve and allow public access to these important historical monuments and nature around them. It seeks an intelligent way to protect what is left of this piece of the Atlantic forest and our historical past so that they exist in the future.
It is a farm situated right in the rain forest, in the municipality of Paraty, in the state of Rio de Janeiro, that is cut across by the gold trail and contains the ruin of an 18th century toll house, several streams, a beautiful waterfall, caves and natural lookouts. All this plus a cozy country house where delicious wood-stove meals are cooked and served, and a guest house with four very comfortable suites.
